In partnership with Science Park Development Corporation (“SPDC”), Twining Properties & LMXD has crafted a Master Plan for Winchester Center which both expands economic growth, adding more offices and laboratory space to the innovation center, and connects the community, establishing a vibrant urban place by filling the parking lots with apartments, shops, restaurants, offices, labs and open space. This will create a mixed-use town center along Winchester Avenue which reconnects and becomes a hub of activity for the surrounding neighborhoods.
Twining Properties focuses on urban, mixed-use, green development at transit nodes along the Northeast Corridor. Twining has a strong track record, including major developments in Cambridge, Boston and New York City containing mixed-income housing, retail, public open space and infrastructure, and a major redevelopment, now in progress, of the waterfront in New Rochelle, New York.
Founded in 2001, Twining Properties is a full-service development firm with offices in NYC and Boston. In 2015 Twining Properties was selected as the New England Smart Growth Developer of the Year by Smart Growth America. Prior to the company’s formation, Twining executives completed more than 4 MSF of development in New York City and Boston. Twining is committed to creating compelling places not only for residents to enjoy, but for the benefit of the wider community.

SPDC is a cooperative effort by the City of New Haven, Connecticut, Yale University, and Olin Corporation with the goal is to further revitalize New Haven through the development and enhancement of employment opportunities for area residents, relief of poverty and neighborhood tension, and the prevention of blight and deterioration in the surrounding neighborhoods. In its 40-year tenure, through multiple partnerships with private developers, Yale and the City, SPDC has facilitated the removal of contaminated, dilapidated buildings beyond repair or remediation, and the renovation of almost one million square feet of historic buildings. Thriving companies such as Arvinas and Alexion and significant community organizations such as ConnCAT and the Literacy Center all started here. Science Park now houses more than 1,600 jobs in 140,000 square feet of renovated lab and office space, and residents enjoy 158 units of housing in historically preserved buildings, of which 20% are affordable.
